Job summary

Pediatric-Specialists-of-Virginia (PSV) seeks an experienced Medical Assistant for our Outpatient Multi-Specialty Clinic in Ashburn, VA. This part-time role covers 20 hours per week with clinical hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities include patient flow management, vital signs, exam preparation, assisting clinicians, clerical duties, and organizing records. Bilingual English/Spanish and CMA/RMA/EMT-B/I credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistants program (CMA/RMA/EMT-B/I).
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• All employees must pass TB, drug and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow; record blood pressure, height, weight; accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms; assist with walking, specimens, phlebotomy, and instruction to patients/families.
• Fulfill clerical duties such as handling medical records, lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals, and forms.
• Organize medical records to ensure providers have necessary information for encounters.
• Instruct patients in basic testing requirements.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment, restock supplies, and keep environment clean.

PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant to join their dedicated team of healthcare professionals!This specific role will be supporting PSV's OutpatientMulti-Specialty Clinic and islocated in Ashburn, VA. This position is working part-time 20 hours/week. Clinical hours range between 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Job Description

• Performs general patient care responsibilities including checking schedules and organizing patient flow; recording patient blood pressure, height, weight; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, collecting specimens, phlebotomy, assisting physicians/nurses; preparing patients for examination and treatment; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls and providing pertinent information.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned, which may include: sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms and requisitions as needed.
• Organizes medical records, including lab results, progress notes, etc. to ensure the provider has all the necessary information available during the patient's encounter.
• Instructs patient in basic testing requirements.
• Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to protocol; cleaning exam /procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; restocking exam/procedures rooms.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician-B/I
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external departmental contacts.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam.

Desired Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of experience in a medical group practice or similar industry.
• At least one (1) year of experience in a pediatric medical office setting.
• Proficient in English and Spanish, verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $20.00 -$24.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 40 Hours
