Job summary

Midland College seeks a part-time instructor to design and deliver Microsoft Office 365 training for adult learners. The syllabus may include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and other 365 applications at introductory and advanced levels.

You will create engaging lessons, assess learner progress, and adapt to diverse skill levels while maintaining a professional classroom environment. Training is based at the Midland campus with typical daytime hours.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications.
  • Certified Microsoft Office Specialist preferred; instructional experience and curriculum development experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver instructor-led Microsoft Office 365 training courses.
  • Prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to students.
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of students with varying skill levels.
  • Maintain instructional materials current with changes to Microsoft Office applications and workplace best practices.
  • Assist with updating or developing course materials when needed.
  • Maintain a professional teaching environment.
  • Provide students with evaluation forms for completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare and deliver instructor-let Microsoft Office 365 training courses
  • Prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the student
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of students with varying skill levels
  • Keep instructional materials current with changes to Microsoft Office applications and workplace best practices
  • Assist with updating or developing course materials when needed
  • Maintain a professional teaching environment
  • Communicate with Training Coordinator regarding room, media and copy needs
  • Maintain control of purchased supplies for class
  • Provide students with evaluation forms for completion
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Associates Degree
  • Must be able to show proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications

  • Certified Microsoft Office Specialist

Work Environment
  • Typical office
  • Business Hours
  • M-Th 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • summer M-Th 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 pm
  • Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment, payroll)
  • Occasional travel (less than 10%)
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town may be required

Salary Range: $31.50 - $42.00 per hour
