Midland College in Midland, Texas seeks a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor for Computer-Aided Drafting & Design to teach CAD lecture and lab courses, and to develop teaching and testing materials.

The position requires an Associate's degree in CAD or related field, at least three years of related work experience, and excellent written and verbal communication. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, Civil 3D, Revit and related CAD tools is preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Inventor, Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD Architecture, 3ds Max, and/or Intergraph CADWorx.

Responsibilities

  • Teach CAD courses offered in the Computer-Aided Drafting & Design programs as needed by semester.
  • Recommend textbooks and instructional materials.
  • Stay current with trends and innovations in the field.
  • Maintain student academic records.
  • Use LMS (Learning Management System) appropriately for the course.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment in the classrooms and labs including student safety and equipment safety.
  • Other duties as assigned

The instructor will teach a combination of Computer-Aided Drafting & Design lecture/lab classes each week along with, developing teaching and testing materials for classes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Typical office
  • Business Hours
  • M-Th 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • summer M-Th 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 pm

Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment, payroll)

Occasional travel (less than 10%)

Physical Demands
  • Requires lifting/moving of equipment in excess of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to sit or stand for a long periods of time
  • Use of manual dexterity
