Young World Physical Education in Tampa, FL, is seeking a part-time HVAC instructor to prepare students for the workforce with required skills and certifications as outlined by the FLDOE Curriculum frameworks. The instructor will work with the current full‑time HVAC instructor to deliver relevant instruction.
The role requires coordinating with local business partners, maintaining safety, and supporting student success through diverse teaching practices and ongoing professional development.
This part‑time HVAC program instructor will help prepare students in the HVAC program to enter the workforce with required skills and certifications as outlined in the FLDOE Curriculum frameworks. The instructor will work in conjunction with the current full‑time HVAC program instructor.
Designs and implements appropriate instruction of content area(s)/course(s) assigned in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and students’ needs. Creates a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport. Creates and delivers relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement. Utilizes a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds to meet the individual needs of students. Observes and evaluates student performance and mastery of standards, monitors student assessment data, and maintains student grades and attendance. Manages student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies and invoking appropriate disciplinary procedures. Communicates with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourages parental involvement. Takes all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment, materials, and facilities. Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records, inquiries, and data. Maintains appropriate certifications and professional development hours as required. Engages with local business and community to partner with the CTE program. Participates as local chapter advisor for the appropriate Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). Engages in continuous improvement and professional development, including earning appropriate industry certifications. Performs any other duties as assigned.

Project Management: Develops project plans, coordinates projects, communicates changes and progress, meets deadlines and budgets, manages team activities. Planning & Organization: Prioritizes and plans work activities, manages time efficiently, integrates changes smoothly, sets goals and objectives, works in an organized manner.
Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets documents, responds to inquiries, writes speeches, presents effectively to managers, the public, and school board. Mathematical Skills: Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, works with basic geometry and trigonometry. Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office.
Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing. Lifting Demands: Up to 10 pounds. Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non‑dominant hand; overhead. Environmental Conditions: Noise intensity 3 moderate.
