Job Description
Teacher, Postsecondary Career and Technical Education – Part‑time evening position (Monday–Thursday, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.) for 12 months. The instructor will prepare students for the workforce and licensing exam, supporting their success in accordance with Florida Department of Education curriculum frameworks. The role works in collaboration with the full‑time Cosmetology & Barbering program instructor(s).
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- One year of technical training with two years of related verifiable experience; or
- Related AA/AS degree with one year of related experience; or
- Three years of full‑time in‑field verified work experience; or
- Related bachelor’s degree and licensed in the State of Florida

Responsibilities
- Design and implement instruction aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and student needs.
- Create a positive educational climate that promotes respect and rapport.
- Develop and deliver rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement.
- Utilize diverse teaching practices reflecting cultural and linguistic backgrounds to meet individual student needs.
- Observe and evaluate student performance, monitor assessment data, and maintain grades and attendance.
- Manage student behavior using effective classroom management strategies and appropriate disciplinary procedures.
- Communicate with parents and district personnel about student progress and encourage parental involvement.
- Take precautions to ensure student health and safety, protecting equipment and facilities.
- Maintain confidential records, inquiries and data.
- Maintain curriculum certifications and mandatory professional development hours.
- Engage with local business and community partners for the CTE program.
- Serve as local chapter advisor for Career and Technical Student Organizations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and professional development, earning additional industry certifications.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
