Primary Purpose

Provide fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service to our customers through the achievement of Food Lion customer service standards. Responsible for assisting the Food Lion To-Go Lead in maintaining standards according to Food Lion's standard practice manual. Maximize sales through excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a smile, using their name whenever possible, and provide prompt, accurate, and friendly service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Exhibit behaviors that align with Food Lion's guiding principles, core values, vision, and strategy.
• Shop multiple customer orders efficiently using designated tools and equipment.
• Recognize and differentiate between all types of produce carried in the store, including varieties of similar products.
• Substitute items when requested.
• Scan, bag, and label purchases accurately, following company policies.
• Verify customer IDs and observe store policies regarding alcohol sales.
• Assist customers with order pickups.
• Complete accountability procedures from start to finish.
• Be courteous and helpful to fellow associates.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, including apron and name badge, maintaining a neat appearance and adhering to dress code.
• Control store expenses through proper use of supplies.
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
• Report unsafe conditions or maintenance issues.
• Complete required training courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Meet physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodations.
