Job summary

Seabury is a premier Not-for-Profit Active Life Plan Community located on 66 acres of beautiful Connecticut countryside. We are seeking enthusiastic, caring team members for our Continuing Care Community. Ideal candidate will have at least 6+ months experience in a similar position working with commercial cleaning machines and equipment.

Hours: 20 hours a week, 5pm-9pm. We offer benefits and supportive programs as part of our collaborative team environment at Seabury.

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in a similar position with commercial cleaning machines.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English clearly.
• Ability to work independently and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, safety regulations, and floor/carpet maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Wet-mops and dries floors.
• Polishes brass rails.
• Shampoos and extracts carpets.
• Washes walls, ceilings, lights and windows.
• Assists with apartment/cottage cleaning and trash removal.
• Responds to emergency clean-up requests.
• Observes and reports needs of residents and equipment repairs.
• Observes safety guidelines and supports facility mission.

• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, or push for majority of the day in order to perform functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Wet-mops and dries floors.
• Polishes of brass rails.
• Shampoos and extracts carpets.
• Washes walls, ceilings, lights and windows.
• Assists Housekeepers with semi-annual apartment/cottage cleaning.
• Removes and disposes of trash, as needed.
• Responds to emergency clean-up requests.
• Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, and/or building.
• Recycling - collects glass and cardboard from residents’ apartments and brings to recycling barrels.
• Observes and reports the needs of the residents in regard to safety issues to the Director.
• Understands and supports the mission and philosophy of the facility.
• Conveys a professional and caring image.
