Job summary

Seabury, Inc. is seeking a part-time custodian for a 20-hour-per-week evening shift (5pm–9pm) at our Continuing Care Community in Bloomfield, CT. The role emphasizes cleaning, safety compliance, and resident-facing service in a not-for-profit Life Plan setting.

You will operate floor and carpet maintenance equipment, assist with apartment cleaning, and respond to cleaning emergencies while upholding Seabury’s mission of wellness and resident care.

Qualifications

• Reading, speaking and understanding English clearly.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, safety regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Wet-mops and dries floors.
• Polishes of brass rails.
• Shampoos and extracts carpets.
• Washes walls, ceilings, lights and windows.
• Assists with semi-annual apartment cleaning.
• Removes and disposes of trash.
• Responds to emergency clean-up requests.
• Observes and reports needs for repairs to equipment, furniture or building.
• Recycling duties and reporting safety concerns.
• Conveys a professional and caring image.
