Job summary

Seabury is hiring for a Full time Campus Safety position on the 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) in Connecticut. The role focuses on safety and security for residents and staff, emphasizing outstanding customer service and clear communication in emergencies.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of security or emergency services experience, a valid CT driver’s license, and the ability to follow procedures, patrol the campus, manage access, and assist with medical and safety operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to respond calmly to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct flag checks and wellness checks as needed.
• Maintain medical response bags and oxygen supplies.
• Follow regulations for medical waste cleanup during emergencies.
• Report deficiencies in resident medical files to supervisors.
• Respond to fire alarms and other emergencies and provide support.
• Respond to personal and emergency aid alarms.
• Respond to medical assist calls and act as trained.
• Control access to the facility and manage entry for residents, staff, visitors, vendors.
• Patrol property and buildings, check for hazards and security risks.
• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic as needed.

Job description

Full time: Monday-Friday 1st shift (7am-3:30pm)

Our Campus Safety team is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property at Seabury. They are the first to respond to a call for assistance and provide calm and supportive help whenever needed. Ideal candidates will deliver outstanding customer service, have strong communication skills and sensitivity to older adults. Valid CT driver’s license required. Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in security or public emergency services is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help to conduct Flag Checks and perform wellness checks as needed
• Maintain the medical response bags and inventory of emergency medical response supplies and oxygen tanks
• Follow all applicable statutes, regulations and procedures for the clean-up and disposition of hazardous medical waste during an emergency medical response incident
• Report identified deficiencies in resident medical files and records to appropriate department supervisors
• Respond to and investigate all fire alarms, disasters or other emergency incidents and provides necessary support
• Respond to and investigate all personal and emergency aid alarms
• Respond to all medical assist calls and act according to the specific needs as trained
• Control access to the facility through an established access control management system to assess those with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility, including residents, employees, visitors, resident guests, vendors and contractors
• Patrol property and site buildings regularly, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security risks, mechanical problems and unauthorized persons
• Manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic direction and control as needed
