Job summary

Seabury is seeking a dedicated Campus Safety professional to provide security and emergency response for residents and staff in a not-for-profit life plan community setting in Connecticut. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and sensitivity to older adults.

Responsibilities include wellness checks, access control, patrols, and incident response. A valid CT driver’s license and prior security/public safety experience are preferred; training will be provided for

Qualifications

• Required: valid CT driver’s license.
• 1+ years’ experience in security or public emergency services preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct flag checks and wellness checks as needed.
• Maintain medical response bags and inventory of EMS supplies.
• Follow statutes and procedures for hazardous medical waste disposal during EMS incidents.
• Report deficiencies in resident medical records to supervisors.
• Respond to fire alarms, disasters, and emergency incidents; provide support.
• Investigate personal and emergency aid alarms; assist as trained.
• Respond to medical assist calls and act per training.
• Control facility access for residents, staff, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• Patrol buildings, identify hazards, and monitor access.
• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic as needed.

Job description

Full time: Monday-Friday 1st shift (7am-3:30pm)

Our Campus Safety team is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property at Seabury. They are the first to respond to a call for assistance and provide calm and supportive help whenever needed. Ideal candidates will deliver outstanding customer service, have strong communication skills and sensitivity to older adults. Valid CT driver’s license required. Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in security or public emergency services is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help to conduct Flag Checks and perform wellness checks as needed
• Maintain the medical response bags and inventory of emergency medical response supplies and oxygen tanks
• Follow all applicable statutes, regulations and procedures for the clean-up and disposition of hazardous medical waste during an emergency medical response incident
• Report identified deficiencies in resident medical files and records to appropriate department supervisors
• Respond to and investigate all fire alarms, disasters or other emergency incidents and provides necessary support
• Respond to and investigate all personal and emergency aid alarms
• Respond to all medical assist calls and act according to the specific needs as trained
• Control access to the facility through an established access control management system to assess those with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility, including residents, employees, visitors, resident guests, vendors and contractors
• Patrol property and site buildings regularly, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security risks, mechanical problems and unauthorized persons
• Manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic direction and control as needed
