Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Part-Time Bus Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for students, supporting a faith-centered environment in Holy Cross Academy.

This role operates on an as-needed basis, transporting students to and from school events, trips, and activities while prioritizing student safety and respectful conduct. Qualified candidates hold a valid CDL with endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements required.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet all Archdiocesan and state driving requirements.
• Previous experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle preferred.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and safe environment requirements.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible, as-needed hours.
• Commitment to supporting a Catholic, faith-based school environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school-related activities, including field trips, athletic events, and extracurricular programs.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and Archdiocesan transportation guidelines.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Maintain order and appropriate student behavior while on the bus.
• Communicate effectively with school staff regarding schedules, routes, and any transportation concerns.
• Ensure accurate attendance and student accountability during transport.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly according to school procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
• Provide a welcoming and respectful environment for all students.
