Job summary

The City of Dania Beach is seeking a part-time Beach Ranger to Patrol beaches, enforce parking rules, and provide public information. This role involves issuing citations, maintaining meters and signage, and collaborating with authorities to ensure safety and compliance.

Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays; training and certifications are supported to advance the candidate’s career within the city’s Community Development team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of public-facing enforcement experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; FL license within 30 days.
• Parking Enforcement certification within 6 months or ability to obtain.
• Level 1 certification from Florida Association of Code Enforcement within 12 months.
• CPR or First Aid certification within 6 months.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned city beach area to enforce parking regulations.
• Promote safety and deter code violations on beaches and grounds.
• Communicate rules and regulations to patrons clearly and politely.
• Issue warnings, citations for non-moving violations and parking infractions.
• Maintain parking meter operations and related signage.
• Prepare and file incident and daily activity reports.
• Testify in court on civil citation matters as required.
• Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary and assist at city events.
