Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support clinical PT programs and patient rehabilitation. The role involves training patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living, under supervision of a PT.

You will collect assessments and participate in data collection for research and quality control. The position requires an APTA-approved two-year PTA program, a current PTA license in the applicable state, and CPR certification every two years.

Qualifications

• Two-year PTA program approved by APTA.
• One year PTA experience preferred.
• Current PTA license in applicable state.
• CPR certification every two years.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physical therapy programs as directed by the physical therapist.
• Train patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living.
• Collect clinical assessment scores and health-related data.
• Perform tests/evaluations of motor skills, reflexes, balance, and coordination.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Assist with research protocols and data quality control; develop educational materials.
• Participate in staff meetings and training activities.
