Job summary

The Gender & Sexuality Therapy Center (G&STC) in Midtown, NY, offers private practice psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and families, with remote options across NY state. We seek fee-for-service therapists with a strong preference for full-time roles, enabling a caseload of ~28–30 clients weekly and 25 completed sessions per week.

We emphasize gender, sexuality, and relationship work, plus supervision and education.

Qualifications

• Must possess LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC, or LMHC and be licensed in New York
• Resides in NY or NJ
• Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC
• Experience with modalities such as CBT, IFS, mindfulness, trauma-informed, somatic, and psychodynamic psychotherapy
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• At least 1 year of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapy
• At least 1 year of experience in individual, couples, multi-partner relationships, and/or family therapy
• At least 1 year of experience with LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous clients
• At least 1 year of experience with sexual-related issues (anxiety, functioning, pain, compulsive behaviors)
• Competence with gender, sex, and sexuality across LGBTQ+ and related areas
• Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails timely

Responsibilities

• Phone consultations
• Provide psychotherapy to a caseload of ~28-30 clients for full-time (25 sessions/week) or ~18 for part-time
• Maintain case notes and documentation
• Provide group therapy as needed
• Blog writing 4x/year (optional)
• Weekly/biweekly individual supervision and weekly group supervision available

Job description

The Gender & Sexuality Therapy Center (G&STC) is a group private practice offering competent and knowledgable psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, partnerships and families in Midtown and remotely in NY state. We're currently accepting applications on a rolling basis for fee-for-service psychotherapists with a strong preference for full-time positions (25 completed sessions per week).

G&STC specializes in gender, sexuality and relationships, and provide a range of services, including psychotherapy, supervision, workshops, and consultation.

REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND APPLY ONLY IF YOU MEET ALL LISTED):

• Possess an LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC, or LMHC and be licensed in New York
• Resides in NY or NJ
• Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC (we know this can be intimidating and we are looking for therapists who want a place to set up roots to come and grow with us!)
• Education, training, and demonstrated success in implementing modalities, such as CBT, IFS, mindfulness treatments, trauma-informed practices, somatic treatments, and psychodynamic psychotherapy
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• At least 1 years of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy
• At least 1 years of experience in providing individual, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and/or family therapy
• At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy to LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous individuals
• At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy for sexual related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual pain compulsive sexual behaviors
• Must have a high level of competence with gender, sex, and sexuality with specific expertise regarding all or some of the following: working with lgbtq+ folks, alt sexualities, and sexual related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexually compulsive behavior, sexual discomfort, and pain, etc
• Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner, and in accordance with G&STC policies

DUTIES:

• Phone consultations
• Full-time position: Provides psychotherapy services to a caseload minimum of ~28-30 clients, including individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families . Full time is considered 25 completed sessions per week . Smaller caseloads of 20-24 may be possible
• Part-time position: Provides psychotherapy services to a caseload minimum of ~18, including individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families .
• Maintains case notes, logs, and all required documentation
• Provide group therapy, as needed
• Blog writing 4x/year, optional
• Participates in weekly/biweeklty individual supervision, weekly group clinical supervision available
• Assists in the creation and implementation of G&STC workshops, training and seminars, as opportunities arise
• Marketing tasks for self and G&STC, as needed/interested

COMPENSATION PACKAGE G&STC:

• Onboarding Stipend (Part-time and full time: $225)
• $45-55 per session depending on licensure and experience (Part-time and full time)
• Sick pay (Part-time and full time: 1 hour earned for every 30 hours worked)
• Paid time off (Full time: 1 hour earned for every 30 hours worked)
