Job description

We’re Hiring: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist

Help members build confidence, strengthen life skills, and move toward greater independence.

Empowerment Quality Care Services, LLC | Charlotte, NC

Pay: $18–$25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

Work setting: Facility-based and community-based, with member transportation responsibilities

Bring your compassion. Put your creativity to work. Make a meaningful difference.

Are you someone who connects easily with others, brings positive energy, and sees potential where others may see obstacles?

At Empowerment Quality Care Services (EQCS), we believe progress happens through encouragement, practical skills, and consistent support. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist to help adults with mental health needs develop the skills and confidence to lead more independent, fulfilling lives.

This is an active, people-centered role—not a sit-behind-a-desk position. You will facilitate engaging activities, support members as they practice everyday skills, and drive members to and from services, helping them stay connected to their recovery goals.

What You’ll Do
  • Make life skills come alive. Lead engaging groups and hands-on activities focused on communication, healthy relationships, personal care, budgeting, problem-solving, coping skills, and everyday routines.
  • Build confidence and connection. Help members practice positive social interactions, advocate for themselves, and participate more comfortably in their communities.
  • Provide safe, dependable transportation. Drive members to and from scheduled services and approved community activities. Follow assigned transportation schedules, agency safety procedures, and member pickup and drop‑off protocols.
  • Support individual recovery goals. Provide person-centered encouragement, recognize progress, and collaborate with the PSR team to address barriers to participation and independence.
  • Keep documentation accurate and timely. Complete service notes, attendance records, and transportation logs while maintaining confidentiality and promptly communicating concerns to your supervisor.
What You’ll Bring
  • A caring, respectful approach. You demonstrate patience, maintain professional boundaries, and treat every member with dignity.
  • Reliability and initiative. You arrive prepared, follow through on responsibilities, and contribute ideas that make activities meaningful and engaging.
  • Strong communication and teamwork. You are comfortable facilitating groups, encouraging participation, documenting your work, and collaborating with others.
  • Driving readiness. You have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to meet agency driver approval and applicable insurance requirements.

Relevant education, training, or experience in behavioral health, human services, social work, psychology, direct support, or psychosocial rehabilitation is preferred. Experience with group facilitation, recovery-oriented services, or passenger transportation is a plus. Candidates must meet the education, experience, screening, and training requirements applicable to their assigned role.

Why Bring Your Talents to EQCS?

Your work will have a purpose you can see: a member speaking up in a group, practicing a new skill, forming a healthy connection, or taking another step toward independence.

You will have opportunities to bring creativity to everyday activities and contribute to a team focused on helping people improve their quality of life. We value compassion—and the professionalism, accountability, and consistency that turn compassion into meaningful support.
