Responsibilities

  • Administers standardized assessments to a diverse patient population under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist or neuropsychologist.
  • Builds rapport and maintains patient effort throughout the assessment.
  • Completes scoring and summaries in a timely fashion (within 1 week of appointment).
  • Summarizes test and evaluation data results in a clear, accurate and comprehensive manner to generate useful recommendations for the patient, caregiver and team.
  • Summarizes clear behavioral observations.
  • Maintains test equipment in neat and orderly fashion.

Description

Gillette Children's is seeking a full-time Psychometrist. This position involves standardized administering and scoring of neuropsychological instruments to support a team of neuropsychologists serving outpatient and inpatient populations. Summarizing test data in a clear, accurate, and comprehensive manner is required.

Qualified candidates will have a BA or BS in Psychology or related field. While prior experience with test administration and scoring for a wide range of pediatric, adolescent, and adult medical patients is preferred, this position also offers training to establish competence in these essential areas. Good judgement, attention to detail, clear written communication, and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for this position. Purpose of Position:

Supports the full range of psychological and neuropsychological services to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare patients by administering and scoring standardized assessments to a diverse patient population.

Compensation & Benefits Information:

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $23.98 to $34.41, with a median wage of $29.75/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Core Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Administers standardized assessments to a diverse patient population under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist or neuropsychologist.

  • Administers and scores tests selected by supervising neuropsychologists to suit the patient’s status and needs (per documentation review).
  • Builds rapport and maintains patient effort throughout the assessment.
  • Completes scoring and summaries in a timely fashion (within 1 week of appointment).
  • Summarizes test and evaluation data results in a clear, accurate and comprehensive manner to generate useful recommendations for the patient, caregiver and team.

4. May also be asked to complete administrative tasks, such as triaging referrals or consults, serving as a team member’s proxy in the EHR, onboarding new employees, responding to departmental phone calls or faxes, or working on efforts toward process or practice improvement. Additionally, if the discipline has a practicum student, intern, or fellow, the employee may be asked to help oversee, supervise, or otherwise contribute toward that individual’s work.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Experience with a wide range of pediatric, adolescent and adult medical patients
    • Interpersonal skills which include ability to successfully establish rapport with the patients and families and the ability to communicate effectively with other caregivers.
    • Organizational skills and capacity to use them flexibly to address specific referral questions.
  • Preferred
    • Prior psychological or neuropsychological testing experience
