Job summary

Gillette Children's in Burnsville, MN invites a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team on a 1.0 FTE basis. The role delivers outpatient and telehealth pediatric therapy, with occasional weekend rotation at the hospital inpatient unit. Primary site is 305 East Nicollet Boulevard, Burnsville, MN, with travel to other Gillette sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist with state licensure required.
  • Current CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers) or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience with pediatric rehabilitation and transition to adult care.
  • Pediatric experience preferred in Burnsville/ Minnetonka area; related pediatric exposure valued.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work in a team.

Description

This is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) pediatric physical therapist position at Gillette Children's. The primary site for the position is our 305 East Nicollet Boulevard Burnsville, MN 55337 location and the candidate may be required to travel occasionally to other Gillette sites. The physical therapist position requires practicing in various settings including outpatient, telehealth, and occasional weekend rotation at the hospital inpatient unit.

Schedule: 4, 10 hour shifts/week

Provides direct and indirect family centered therapy services for patients to increase functional abilities, independence and community integration. Contributes to department, program and service teams to assure achievement of desired outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits Information

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $37.99 to $56.98, with a median wage of $47.49/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Gillette supports career progression and offers a competitive benefits package that includes a retirement savings match, tuition and certification reimbursement, paid time off, and health and wellness benefits for .5 FTE and above. $2.75 weekend/evening/night differential is available for this position.

  • Completes an evaluation utilizing principles of family-centered care.
  • Implements a therapy care plan utilizing principles of family-centered care.
  • Completes necessary administrative and procedural tasks in a timely manner.
  • Completes training in essential job competencies.
Qualifications
Required
  • PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE/REGISTRATION-
    • Physical Therapy State License
    • Pending credentials: Registration and Licensure pending, not to exceed three months in this status
  • Current certification in CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association) or must obtain certification within 90-days of hire.
  • Knowledge: transition from pediatric to adult health and rehabilitation care and of rehabilitation practice for adults with Childhood onset disabilities.
  • Pediatric experience strongly preferred in Burnsville, Minnetonka, Maple Grove and St. Paul; desirable at Phalen Adult Clinic. Experience working with adults with childhood onset disabilities strongly preferred at Phalen Adult; desirable in Burnsville, Minnetonka, Maple Grove and St. Paul.
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, rehabilitation theory and practice with a wide variety of childhood onset diagnoses and related considerations including anatomy and neurology, emotional behavior factors, family needs and issues, community transition and equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to function as an effective team member
  • Competency in physical therapy evaluation, treatment and family/community education and planning for transition to community services.
Preferred
  • Pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge: transition from pediatric to adult health and rehabilitation care and of rehabilitation practice for adults with Childhood onset disabilities.
  • Experience working with adults with childhood onset disabilities desirable.
