The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago seeks qualified candidates for an appointment as Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology beginning Fall 2025. The Department of Psychology offers rigorous, empirically grounded training in psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the undergraduate level, our programs provide a broad-based introduction to the field that is applicable to a wide variety of careers, and that forms a solid foundation for those who wish to pursue advanced study in various areas of specialization. At the graduate level, we offer specialized training in applied social, clinical, and developmental psychology. We welcome candidates with research and clinical expertise in the examination of how individuals, families, and/or communities experience and respond to stress, trauma, and adversity (e.g., exposure to violence, oppression, discrimination, bias, racism). The successful candidate will have a culturally responsive approach to: A) research initiatives, B) mentorship practices of a diverse graduate student body, and C) clinical philosophy/orientation. Qualifications

Candidates for the position will have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and will be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Illinois, although candidates without interest in seeking licensure will be considered. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in research and teaching and have a record of (or clear potential for) distinguished scholarship, grant-funded research, and student mentorship. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to mentor, support, and potentially supervise students from diverse backgrounds. Experience working or conducting research in the specialty areas noted above is desirable. Candidates must be willing to support the mission of Loyola University Chicago and the goals of a Jesuit, Catholic education.

Additional Salary Information

This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. Salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
