The College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Italian American Studies, beginning Fall 2025. Candidates should have strong research and teaching profiles in Italian American Studies, with the ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate's tenure home will be determined by their doctoral discipline, which may include English, History, Modern Languages and Literatures, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Theology.
The Rubino Professorship includes funding to host an annual guest lecture, support student activities, and oversee student research, including summer projects through the Undergraduate Summer Research Experience (USRE) program. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in one of the specified disciplines by the start date, with research and teaching focused on Italian American Studies. Candidates should demonstrate potential for excellence in research, teaching, external funding, and student mentorship. Support for the mission of Loyola University Chicago and Jesuit, Catholic education is required.
