Job summary

Spokane Community College (SCC) seeks an adjunct Psychology instructor to teach on-ground courses within the Social Sciences department. In-person classes will be held at the SCC campus, with potential future hybrid or online options.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Experience equivalent to teaching one year (3 quarters or 2 semesters) of college-level courses.
• Evidence of instructional excellence.
• Proficiency in classroom instructional technology and learning management system technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and instruct classes on campus primarily; may be opportunities for hybrid or online instruction in the future.
• Provide availability and accessibility to students through scheduled office hours, email accessibility and other effective communication methods.
• Communicate expectations and establish grading criteria through syllabi, handouts, and materials; evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Comply with state and federal law; follow procedures in areas such as grading, bookstore orders, student safety and related administrative processes.
