Starting salary for this position is: $42.05 - $89.48 per hour based on workload category.

This is an adjunct (part-time) position. Compensation will be pro-rated according to the amount of workload assigned.

About Us

Spokane Community College (SCC) seeks qualified candidates for an on-ground adjunct position instructing Psychology courses within the Social Sciences department. We seek applicants with a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. SCC strives to attract faculty who are content experts in their field and who are also knowledgeable about best practices, innovative teaching strategies, and effective instructional technologies to support students.

Classes will be taught in-person at the SCC campus. There may also be an opportunity to instruct hybrid or online classes in the future.

Spokane Community College, part of Spokane Colleges, serves 15,000 students with career technical, liberal arts, and adult education programs in Spokane and surrounding rural communities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and instruct classes on campus primarily; may be opportunities for hybrid or online instruction in the future.
  • Provide availability and accessibility to students through a combination of scheduled office hours, e‑mail accessibility and other effective means of responsive and timely communication.
  • Communicate expectations and establish clear grading criteria through appropriate instructional means, including developing course syllabi, handouts, and materials supporting the instructional process; evaluating student progress and providing clear, timely feedback.
  • Comply with state and federal law applicable to professional duties and responsibilities; follow established procedures in areas such as printing, turning in grades, bookstore orders, student safety.
