Avela Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced psychologist with expertise in conducting neurodiversity-affirming autism evaluations virtually for children, teens, and adults. The ideal candidate will work with clients in a collaborative manner that emphasizes strengths and be skilled in differential diagnoses including but not limited to ADHD, depression, anxiety, and bi-polar disorder.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide thorough diagnostic evaluations for children, youth, and adults who are questioning autism or who have been referred for an autism diagnostic evaluation
Deliver services via telehealth, ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and consistent engagement with families.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary remote team, maintaining clear communication and cooperation to deliver comprehensive care.
Provide psychoeducation regarding autism from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective
Provide recommendations that are strength-based and tailored to the unique needs of each client
Qualifications:
Licensed as a psychologist in one or more states
Documented experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations from a neurodiversity-affirmative perspective
Proficiency in delivering services via telehealth platforms.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment.
Commitment to a family-centered, strengths-based approach to supporting autistic individuals and their families.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in behavior therapy/cognitive-behavior therapy
Expertise in working with autistic individuals in a therapeutic context
