Position Summary
The Psychological Sciences adjunct teaches courses in the Psychological Sciences program, preparing and delivering in-person learning activities designed to achieve course outcomes. Specifically, this position is needed to teach two courses, Social Psychology and Psychology of Personality.
The adjunct will develop course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and content for the Course Management System (CMS). They will evaluate and grade students’ class work, online work, assignments, papers, and examinations, while holding a minimum of two regularly scheduled office hours per week throughout the semester.
They must maintain and submit student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines, as well as prepare and maintain course materials within the Salem College Course Management System for each course taught and communicate with enrolled students through a Salem email account. Additionally, participate in periodic meetings with supervisors, the division, or the College related to teaching responsibilities, as well as training and professional development.

Required Qualifications
While performing the responsibilities of the course instructor, the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, and kneel and regularly ascend/descend stairs; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard; perform extended periods of work at a computer workstation, view a computer monitor; perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information through oral communication; express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word; and work in an office setting.
