ODMHSAS's Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita, OK seeks a full‑time Psychiatrist to deliver forensic psychiatry within a high‑impact setting. You will evaluate competency, treat complex cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve public safety and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in Oklahoma.
• Board-eligible or Board-certified in Psychiatry.
• Willingness to undergo OSBI background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and intake evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and manage psychotropic medications.
• Order and interpret labs as needed and monitor treatment response.
• Provide psychoeducation to patients and families about diagnoses and treatment options.
• Supervise residents, interns, and clinical staff as assigned.
• Participate in on-call coverage for medical and psychiatric needs.

About the Facility

• Location: Vinita, Oklahoma (approximately 60 miles northeast of Tulsa)
• Capacity: 268 beds
• Population Served: Individuals found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity
• Mission: Deliver quality forensic evaluations and effective psychiatric treatment in a therapeutic environment that preserves public safety

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments for new patients
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation

Minimum Qualifications
