ODMHSAS's Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita, OK seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Clinical Services team. The role emphasizes comprehensive evaluations, collaborative care, and leadership opportunities within a 24/7 inpatient behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include conducting histories and exams, developing treatment plans, and educating patients and families. Eligibility for prescriptive authority and an Oklahoma APN certification are required.

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma RN license.
• Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN).
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience.
• Eligibility for prescriptive authority within 30 days of hire.
• Graduate-level education in advanced practice nursing.

About the Facility

The Oklahoma Forensic Center is the largest inpatient behavioral health facility within ODMHSAS and the state’s only inpatient forensic hospital, serving all 77 counties.

• Location: Vinita, Oklahoma (approximately 60 miles northeast of Tulsa)

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join our Clinical Services team! In this role, you will:

• Comprehensive Patient Evaluations
  Conduct detailed histories and physical, mental, and psychiatric assessments for new and existing patients


• Clinical Decision-Making
  Diagnose conditions and develop effective, individualized treatment plans and discharge strategies, evaluate daily clinical concerns and adjust treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes


• Patient Rounds & Collaboration
  Round on units, review charts and collaborate closely with physicians and other interdisciplinary teams as a trusted clinical partner


• Policy & Process Improvement
  Help develop and implement clinical policies and procedures that enhance care delivery


• Patient & Family Education
  Provide guidance on preventive care, treatment plans, and medication use


• Team Engagement
  Participate in treatment team meetings, staff discussions, and educational conferences


• Leadership Opportunities
  Step into supervisory or administrative roles when needed

Required Qualifications:

• Active Oklahoma RN license


• Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN)

• Graduate-level education in advanced practice nursing
