Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. The role oversees the facility's mental health program and services, coordinating referrals and training staff to support inmate well-being and safety.

The position requires a Master’s degree in psychiatry (MD in Psychiatry) with board certification and an Ohio license, plus relevant experience and annual in-service training compliance. A valid Ohio driver's license is also expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychiatry preferred.
• MD specialty in psychiatry is required.
• Board certification in psychiatry is required.
• Must have an Ohio license to practice medicine.
• Valid driver’s license in Ohio or waivered by management.
• Annual in-service training must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage the mental health program and services of the facility.
• Accept referrals for inmate evaluations; make necessary judgments and recommendations.
• Coordinate mental health referrals to other resources when deemed appropriate.
• Develop and conduct preventive mental health programs including inmate training, counseling, recreation activities, discipline, orientation and other support services.
• Provide staff training in-staff counseling techniques.
• Prepare and conduct special training programs for staff as scheduled.
• Maintain confidentiality of inmates and their files; observe HIPAA rules.
• Promote positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychiatry preferred; must be MD specialty in psychiatry and three (3) years related experience.
• Must have a license or certification as required by the state of Ohio.
• Board certified in psychiatry.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
• Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
