Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. Provide specialized substance abuse treatment planning, training, and education to inmates and staff in a secure, supportive environment.

The role requires licensure in Ohio as listed, plus experience and a valid driver’s license; travel or site requirements may apply as part of the program.

Qualifications

  • Must hold current certification or credentials in one of following listed Ohio licenses.
  • One year related experience preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license in Ohio with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be approved for hire by ODRC and maintain facility security clearance.
  • Must complete annual in-service training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a system to promote coordination and integration of substance abuse treatment with facility programs.
  • Assess inmates with identified substance abuse problems; develop and implement plans with staff.
  • Ensure documentation of assessments and plans in inmates’ recovery services records.
  • Provide ongoing comprehensive training for all staff in substance abuse area and related skills.
  • Conduct substance abuse and tobacco cessation classes, education groups, and other sessions.
  • Encourage awareness of substance abuse issues throughout the facility.
  • Develop linkages with community resources for substance abuse services.
  • Promote positive social skills by modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when needed.

Essential Duties
  • Develop a system to promote the coordination and integration of the substance abuse treatment components with other facility programs.
  • Assess inmates with identified substance abuse problems; develop and implement a plan to modify or control the problem(s) by working with inmates, counselors, instructors and the mental health consultant, as appropriate.
  • Ensure documentation of all inmates' assessments and plans are in the inmates' recovery services records regarding substance abuse problem(s).
  • Provide ongoing comprehensive training for all staff members in the substance abuse area with specific goals toward staff education and awareness, staff skills in identification and reporting substance abuse programs, individual staff member counseling skills and general team building throughout the facility.
  • Conduct substance abuse and tobacco cessation classes, group educational, peer support and other treatment sessions for inmates.
  • Encourage awareness of substance abuse issues throughout the facility.
  • Develop linkages with community resources for substance abuse services.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Must hold current certification or credentials in one of following:
    • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)
    • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Ill (LCDC Ill)
    • Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)
    • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
    • Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) by state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
    • Professional Counselor (PC) by state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
    • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
    • Licensed Physician by state of Ohio Medical Board.
    • Licensed Psychologist by state of Ohio Board of Psychology.
    • Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing
    • Psychology Assistant as defined in paragraph (B) (14) of Ohio Administrative Rule 3793: 2-1-11
  • One (1) year related experience preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • The selected candidate must be approved for hire by ODRC and must maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
