Join our team at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD as a Psychiatric Technician (Weekends). In this role, you will collaborate with licensed nursing and clinical teams to provide direct care to individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Your passion for mental health advocacy and strong interpersonal skills will empower patients on their path to recovery.

What You Will Do

• Promote a safe environment through regular rounds and searches, facilitating patient focus on healing.
• Assist with basic patient care such as eating, bathing, dressing, and hygiene education, observing patient progress.
• Provide behavioral emergency assistance and recognize/report homicidal or suicidal behaviors.
• Monitor and document patient behavior in seclusion or precautions.
• Perform delegated duties like vital signs and specimen collection.
• Use Standard Precautions to prevent infection spread.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of direct care experience in psychiatric or behavioral healthcare preferred.

Key Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of infection control and Standard Precautions.
• Knowledge of Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Techniques (HWC III).
• Ability to coordinate care with treatment team.
