Job summary

Albertina Kerr seeks a Psychiatric Technician Supervisor to support the Swing Back shift in our Crisis Psychiatric Residential (Subacute) program. You will assist the Program Manager in supervising technicians, managing milieu, and identifying program needs to maintain high-quality care.

The role includes training staff, ensuring adherence to agency values, and coordinating with administration on safety interventions. This position supports on-site operations and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, social science, or related field.
  • QMHA verification per Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR).
  • Six months or more of supervision/management experience required.
  • At least one year of experience working with children with high psychiatric and behavioral acuity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess child needs based on psychiatric presentation and behaviors.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a team implementing collaborative problem solving.
  • Ability to push or pull or lift in excess of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to ensure cross shift coverage and identify staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Manager with hiring, supervising, and evaluating psychiatric technicians.
  • Train and develop psychiatric technicians to meet core competencies and maintain agency values.
  • Respond to potential health concerns per policies and procedures and communicate concerns with administration.
  • Ensure authorization for emergency safety interventions.
  • Ensure staff fulfill duties of a mandatory abuse reporter.
  • Provide basic needs for clients including food, clothing, and hygiene.
  • Identify program needs and coordinate with administration to maintain financial sustainability.
  • Review emergency safety intervention documentation as assigned.
  • Assume duties of psychiatric technician as needed.
  • Maintain cross shift coverage and staffing needs across shifts.
  • Oversee milieu management and supervise staff.

As a Psychiatric Technician Supervisor, you'll assist the Program Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Crisis Psychiatric Residential (Subacute) Program by supervising psychiatric technicians, milieu management and identification of program needs.
