Qualifications

• Program Graduate
• Bachelor's Degree (nonessential)
• Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
• 2 years directly related experience
• Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider/Professional Rescuers within 30 days
• RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
• PALS TNCC and/or ENPC (nonessential)

Responsibilities

• Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
• Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families
• Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by questioning current policies and processes
• Identify and report environmental conditions that may put a patient at risk
• Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
• Collaborate with healthcare team, implement and document individualized care plans including discharge planning
• Administer medication, including IV medication, and document/communicate findings
• Assist with tests and procedures, ensure proper consent
• Institute emergency measures for sudden changes in patient status
• Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
• Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information
• Triages calls per departmental policy
• Participate in orientation and precept new staff
• Report patient safety concerns and medical errors timely
• Encourage patient participation in their own care
