Responsibilities

• Stabilizes acute mental health crises and provides therapeutic environments for recovery.
• Directs and delegates patient care to support staff based on acuity and safety.
• Coordinates with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers and families for continuity of care.
• Educates patients and families on rights, consent and advance directives.
• Performs risk assessment, de-escalation and emergency response planning.
• Ensures compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations and hospital policies.
