Job summary

UNMH Jobs in New Mexico is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to support the Crisis Triage Center during nights. You will provide professional mental health nursing care, design care plans, and ensure adherence to hospital policies to aid recovery.

The role spans pediatric to geriatric patients with ongoing education and development opportunities; includes night shifts with differential incentives and sign-on/relocation supports. Expect collaborative, high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni or Navajo is preferred.
• RN licensure in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement in NM.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Interview, examine, and assess the health status of psychiatric patients with various cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders.
• Observe patient behavior, activities, and mental status; perform triage and crisis intervention.
• Write treatment plans; coordinate patient drug and procedure activities; administer medication and treatment; provide and coordinate nursing care of assigned patients.
• Chart and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patients' conditions; collect and document data.
• Perform nursing intakes, draw blood and other patient specimens; may perform or coordinate laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and families on treatment regimens, management of side effects, and compliance with treatment plans; provide emotional support and advocacy.
• Provide information and facilitate communication between physicians, medical students, staff, patients, families, and community; coordinate with service providers.
