Job summary

Universal Health Services' Kingwood Pines Hospital in the Houston area seeks a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care for psychiatric patients across age groups, using the nursing process to assess needs, plan care, and evaluate outcomes. Services include milieu management, crisis intervention, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Texas required.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience; psychiatric nursing preferred.
• CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training completed prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors; direct milieu management.
• Assess patients' psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient's response to treatment.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate interventions.
