Job summary

Universal Health Services Inc. is seeking a Floor Registered Nurse for the Day shift (7am - 7:30pm) at Cypress Creek Hospital in north Houston, TX.

The RN will implement and evaluate patient care on Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric units, supervise nursing staff, and handle medication administration under physician orders. Ideal candidates Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Texas license; psychiatric nursing experience preferred and CPR/de-escalation certifications obtainable during

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
• One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
• Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate patient care on Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric units as assigned.
• Supervise and guide nursing staff; report to Nursing leadership.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide milieu management and unit team leadership; crisis intervention as needed.
• Complete patient admissions processes with nursing assessments.
• Maintain documentation per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Engage in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
