Job summary

Cypress Creek Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., is seeking a Floor Registered Nurse for the Day Shift (7am - 7:30pm) on Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric units in north Houston, TX. The RN will implement and evaluate patient care, supervise nursing staff, and support unit leadership as directed by the Chief Nursing Officer.

Ideal candidates will hold an accredited nursing degree and Texas RN license, with psychiatric nursing experience preferred and CPR/de-escalation certifications

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing (or compact state).
• One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certifications required or available during orientation.
• Complete new hire requirements including background check and drug screen.
• State and Federal OIG check.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient admissions process, including nursing assessment.
• Documents ongoing patient assessments/progress clearly and concisely as required by hospital and regulatory standards.
• Medication management – administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Participates as member of interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provides milieu management and unit team leadership.
• Provides nursing interventions in crisis situations and reports unsafe conditions.
• Performs age-appropriate communication and patient-family education.
• Adheres to discharge processes and attends mandatory staff meetings.
