Job summary

Butler Hospital, part of Care New England, seeks a dedicated registered nurse to provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting. The RN will follow ANA standards and RI Nurse Practice Act while ensuring safe and compassionate care for all patients.

The role includes participating in treatment planning, coordinating emergencies, administering medications, and serving as Charge Nurse during shifts. A BSN is preferred and Rhode Island licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.
