Southridge Behavioral Hospital, a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Technician to support safety and emotional needs of patients and assist with admissions and rounds.

You will work the Day shift (7am–7:30pm), participate in groups, and help maintain a therapeutic milieu. CPR certification is preferred; a high school diploma is required; opportunities for education are available.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Human Services preferred but not required.
• CPR certification (can obtain after hire).

• Assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu; use de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Conduct rounds every 15 minutes (or sooner) to ensure patient safety.
• Assist the RN with admissions, discharges, taking vitals, searches, and unit orientation.

Position Description:

• Assisting in the ongoing assessment of the safety and emotional needs of each patient.
• Demonstrating awareness of the key elements of the treatment plans for all assigned patients and provides intervention/care accordingly on an individualized basis.
• Assisting patients with their personal grooming and personal hygiene, appropriate to the patient’s age, developmental level and needs.
• Participating in assigned groups and activities to meet the needs of various patient populations.
• Demonstrating the ability to maintain therapeutic and professional rapport with patients.
• Participating with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. Provides verbal de-escalation techniques and physical management, as needed.
• Making rounds on patients, including documenting every 15 minutes or sooner to provide patient safety.
• Assisting the RN with patient admissions and discharges. Performs vital signs, belongings searches, and orientation to the unit.

Hours and Location:

Full-Time, 7am to 7:30pm for Day Shift. Schedule includes every other weekend.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelors degree in Psychology or Human Services related field preferred but not required
• CPR certified (Can obtain once hired)
• Experience working as a psychiatric technician preferred
