Role Description

The Medical Biller is a full-time, on-site role based in Lake Charles, LA. This role is responsible for preparing, submitting, and tracking medical claims to insurance carriers, including Medicare and other payers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations. Day-to-day tasks include verifying patient insurance coverage, reviewing documentation for appropriate ICD-10 coding, resolving claim denials, posting payments, and following up on outstanding balances. The Medical Biller will work closely with clinical and administrative staff to clarify medical terminology and documentation, maintain organized billing records, and respond to billing inquiries from patients and payers. The role also involves generating regular reports on claim status, accounts receivable, and reimbursement trends to support the financial health of the practice.
