Job summary

CredSpun LLC is seeking a behavioral health billing specialist to manage end-to-end billing for therapy and psychiatry practices. You’ll handle psychotherapy and add-on codes, telehealth rules, and payer carve-outs, ensuring clean claims and timely denials resolution.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mental health billing, knowledge of CPT codes and telehealth rules, and sensitivity to confidential health information. This is a remote role with flexible, Tech-enabled workflow.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of mental health or behavioral health billing.
• Working knowledge of psychotherapy and psychiatric CPT codes and their time rules.
• Experience with telehealth billing rules and carve-out payers.
• Respect for the sensitivity of mental health records.

Responsibilities

• Bill psychotherapy (90832, 90834, 90837), family therapy and group therapy codes correctly
• Bill psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and E/M visits with psychotherapy add-on codes
• Apply telehealth place-of-service codes and modifiers by payer
• Route claims to behavioral health carve-out administrators where plans require it
• Track session authorizations and coordinate with the authorization team
• Post payments, work denials and follow up on unpaid claims
• Bill for licensed clinicians and supervised associates according to payer rules

About the behavioral health billing role

Mental health billing has its own rules. Psychotherapy codes are time-based, add-on codes have to be paired correctly with E/M visits, authorizations cover a set number of sessions, telehealth needs the right place-of-service code and modifier, and many plans carve behavioral health out to a separate administrator. Get any of those wrong and claims deny in batches. As a behavioral health biller you handle billing end to end for therapy and psychiatry practices.

What you will do

• Bill psychotherapy (90832, 90834, 90837), family therapy and group therapy codes correctly
• Bill psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and E/M visits with psychotherapy add-on codes
