Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Job description

The primarily responsibility of the Psychiatric Medical Assistant is to support the functions of the psychiatric providers at LCMHS. The Psychiatric Medical Assistant must have skills to use various software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and others, and operate in an electronic medical record environment. Must be comfortable working with consumers with severe mental health conditions and with a range of professional and paraprofessional staff. Organizational skills and ability to quickly learn new software will be a constant in this role.

Education/Experience

Required: HS diploma and 5 years of medical office experience or Associate’s degree and 3 years medical office or similar experience;

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of medical office experience or experience as a psychiatric medical assistant.
