Job summary

Quail Run Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) to coordinate and evaluate patient care as part of a collaborative health team.

The RN will document patient information, reassess changes, and administer medications following the 7 rights, while maintaining a therapeutic environment for adolescents, adults, and seniors in inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges (out of state compact license: must apply for an AZ license within 60 days of hire).
• New grads welcome to apply. One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting preferred. One year of med/surge experience is strongly preferred for the geriatric unit.
• Handle With Care and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers required. Training provided at the facility.
• Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient information and nursing care; reassess significant changes per policy; report infection signs to Infection Control Nurse; verify patient records and Acuities for staffing levels.
• Ensure patients are oriented to the program, monitor activity, encourage participation; prescribe and coordinate nursing care during episodes of care and maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Employ communication, interviewing, problem-solving, and crisis intervention; administer medications using the 7 rights; transcribe and carry out physician orders; use appropriate interventions in emergencies.
