Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (6North) on a full-time day shift. You will de-escalate crises, provide trauma-informed care, administer medications, and monitor patients with behavioral health needs in a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a NYS RN license, a BSN, BLS, and 1–2 years of psychiatric nursing experience; certification in psychiatric nursing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current New York State RN license required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• Experience in psychiatric/inpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions and constant monitoring for psychiatric patients.
• Administer medications and de-escalate high-risk situations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and recovery.
