Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatry Float Pool RN to provide flexible staffing across College Hill psychiatric and behavioral health programs. You will apply clinical judgment, therapeutic communication, and trauma-informed care to support youth in crisis, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role offers full- and part-time shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Associate or Diploma RN from ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program.
• Active Ohio RN license; may require other state licensure.
• Foreign graduates must have license validated per Ohio Board rules.
• Must pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, monitor effectiveness, and escalate concerns as needed.
• Float across College Hill psychiatric and behavioral health areas based on staffing needs.
• Provide developmentally appropriate care and supervise activities of daily living.
• Maintain safety checks and documentation of patient progress and observations.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and families to coordinate care.
