Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse for our Child Inpatient Psychiatry unit at the College Hill Campus. The role involves milieu management, safety oversight, and therapeutic engagement within a fast-paced pediatric inpatient setting.

Applicants must be Associate/Diploma prepared RNs with an active Ohio license; BSN preferred. The position offers full-time hours with weekend rotation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate/Diploma prepared RN from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited program.
• Active Ohio RN license; may require additional state licensure.
• If external candidate without BSN/MSN, must enroll in BSN/MSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Milieu management, patient safety, and trauma-informed care for pediatric psychiatric patients.
• Lead and implement token economy and group programming to support engagement and discharge goals.
• Administer medications and coordinate nursing care across physical and mental health needs.
• Maintain observation levels and safety checks; ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Document assessments, care interventions, and patient progress; support families and interprofessional communication.
