Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for our psychiatric hospital in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on comprehensive pharmaceutical care, reviewing orders, monitoring psychotropic therapies, and collaborating with psychiatrists and nurses to optimize outcomes.

The position requires a PharmD or BS with 1 year of pharmacy experience, English proficiency, and Texas licensure eligibility within 30 days, plus sterile IV compounding, BLS, and ACLS certifications within

Qualifications

Education: BS degree or PharmD degree required.
Experience: 1 year of pharmacy experience.
English proficiency: speaking, reading, writing in English.
Licensure: Eligible for licensure by Texas State Board of Pharmacy; license required within 30 days.
Certifications: Sterile compounding (IV) certification accredited by ACPE; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 180 days.

Responsibilities

Review and verify medication orders and monitor patient responses.
Educate staff and patients on medication use and safety.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses and interdisciplinary teams to optimize treatment outcomes.
Manage technicians and supervise pharmacy workflow, including IV/central pharmacy operations.
