Universal Health Services' Forest View Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Psychiatric Registered Nurse for our Partial Hospitalization Program. New grads are welcome to apply.

The TEMP Psych RN provides nursing care to patients on each unit, conducts assessments, develops initial treatment plans, and participates in discharge planning. You will educate patients and families, monitor medications, and support a safe, therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• 6-12 months of previous Psych Nursing preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Michigan.
• Demonstrates clinical competency in general nursing care; basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory.
• CPR/Handle With Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops initial nursing treatment plan using the nursing process.
• Assess and plan care for patients with co-occurring disorders.
• Continuously assess patient’s medical and psychiatric status.
• Collaborate with team to implement treatment plans.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic milieu.
• Discharge planning and coordination.
• Provide nursing interventions and education groups.
• Medication teaching and monitor side effects.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately.
• Adhere to infection control and standard precautions.
• Handle crisis calls and make referrals as needed.
