Job summary

UNMH is hiring a full-time Advanced Practice Provider in the MDC department. You will Assess, diagnose and treat within state protocols, prescribe medications including controlled substances, and document care in the medical record.

The role requires 1 year of psychiatric experience, an Advanced Practice Nurse license, and a valid NM license with ACLS/PALS eligibility. Sign-on and relocation support are available; rotating shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Program Graduate
• Advanced Nurse or Clinical Nurse Spec
• 1 year psychiatric experience
• Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo Bilingual English/Spanish (nonessential)
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
• NM Advanced Practice Nurse License (CNP, CNS, CRNA)
• ACLS or PALS (as applicable) within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans; implement treatment, follow-up and evaluate patient within the scope of practice protocols.
• Prescribes and distributes all drugs, including controlled substances.
• Perform patient history and physical exams as needed for procedures or admissions; document findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Evaluate and revise intervention care/treatment plan with patient and family as necessary to achieve improved health.
• Provide accurate documentation of patient care and communicate orders to the health care team.
• Educate patients and families about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Work with medical/nursing/counseling staff to provide comprehensive care and continuity.
• Guide, teach, support and serve as a clinical resource to nursing and medical staff.
