Job summary

Birch Bay Retirement Village is seeking a PSS (in training) to provide hands-on care and support for residents, under RN supervision and with a preceptor. You will help implement care plans, document abilities and daily living activities, and coordinate with other care staff to ensure optimal well-being.

Requirements include 18+ years old with PSS certification or recertification within 120 days, 1+ year geriatrics experience, and BLS within 120 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and hold a PSS certification or recertification within 120 days of hire.
• One+ year experience in geriatrics; familiarity with memory loss care.
• BLS within 120 days of hire.
• Strong English communication, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and services to meet identified resident needs under supervision.
• Coordinate with CNA/CRMA/PSS staff to implement the interdisciplinary service plan.
• Observe, document, and report resident changes and daily living activities.
• Maintain resident well-being per care plan and current standards of care.

Summary

The PSS (in training) is responsible for the provision of hands on care and services to meet identified resident needs. This includes coordination with other CNA/CRMA/PSS staff, implementation of the interdisciplinary service plan for each resident, reporting changes to resident condition and documenting resident physical ability to perform self-care. The PSS observes, documents, and reports all aspects of resident activities of daily living to ensure appropriate level of care and placement. The PSS works with the assistance of a preceptor/mentor, the direction of the RCC or Quality Care Coordinator and under the supervision and guidance of the RN to maintain the highest levels of physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standards of care.

Requirements

Education, Training or Certifications Required

Experience Required

Physical Demands
