Job summary

Birch Bay Retirement Village is seeking a PSS in training to provide hands-on care and support to residents, under supervision. The role involves coordinating with nursing and support staff to implement the resident service plan and to report changes in condition as needed.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in geriatrics, familiarity with memory loss care, and holds a PSS certification or is within 120 days of recertification; basic computer skills and BLS training within 120 days are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old; PSS certification or recertification within 120 days of hire date.
• One or more years experience in geriatrics; familiarity with memory loss care.
• BLS within 120 days of hire date; basic computer skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing; additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and services per resident service plan.
• Coordinate with CNA/CRMA/PSS staff to meet identified resident needs.
• Observe, document, and report residents' activities of daily living to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Report changes in resident condition to supervisor and document patient abilities to perform self-care.
