The Division of General Internal Medicine of the University of Utah’s School of Medicine is looking for motivated candidates who are interested in academic medicine to enter the Advance Practice Clinician Hospitalist Fellowship program. The program is designed to accommodate two fellows every 12 months, providing the opportunity for comprehensive training in inpatient medicine, broadening and strengthening knowledge, and helping develop an analytical and systematic approach in diagnosing and caring for hospitalized adult patients. Fellows will rotate with the infectious disease service, cardiology service, and the intensive care unit and will receive essential procedural and echocardiography training. Our goal is to help build confident providers, with effective communication skills, capable of advancing to take on full responsibility and autonomy in patient care.
To apply, every applicant will include supporting evidence of successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Certification and licensure to practice and prescribe (with active DEA license) must also be provided. Entrance to the fellowship will be granted based on CV, three letters of recommendation from the program attended, a personal interview, and a criminal background check.
The program offers a competitive stipend, full benefits, Palliative Care Conference, Western AF Symposium, UCARS (Utah Cardiac Recovery Symposium), and the cost of application and test for a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hospital Medicine offered by NCCPA.
Before applying for this position, please carefully review fellowship goals, benefits, and expectations on the University of Utah General Internal Medicine website.
Required: Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.
